Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero has ran into trouble, a few days after the release of the trailer with much gusty. A scene from the trailer has hurt the Sikh community for depicting a Gatra Kirpan worn by King Khan. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has lodged a complaint against the filmmakers at the Delhi police station.
SRK’s Zero Trailer Lands In Trouble
“I have received a number of complaints from the Sikh Sangat for hurting the sentiments of the Sikhs by movie ZERO directed by Aanand L Rai. In the film, Shah Rukh Khan has been shown wearing “Gatra Kirpan” (Article of Sikh Faith) and their movie promo has created outrage among Sikh community worldwide,” said Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Meanwhile, the Zero makers have issued a statement to subside the controversy which could cause a dampen in the film’s reease. “Your concern is duly noted and we wish to respectfully clarify that the film does not depict a Kirpan. The filmmakers have been careful not to hurt the feelings of any community including the Sikh community,” read the statement.
