Akshay Kumar: I don’t understand negativity about my citizenship

Akshay Kumar’s citizenship became a subject of a hot topic after the actor’s absence from the polling booth. The actor has now issued a statement saying, “I really don’t understand the unwarranted interest and negativity about my citizenship. I have never hidden or denied that I hold a Canadian passport. It is also equally true that I have not visited Canada in the last seven years”.

Akshay concluded his speech with, “Lastly, I would like to continue contributing in my small way to the causes that I believe in and make India stronger and stronger.” Bollywood Khiladi was also in the news for his “non-political” interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The actor’s video where a reporter questions him about his absence from casting vote got viral. In the video, Akshay is seen smiling and responding “Chaliye, chaliye (let’s go, let’s go)”at a special screening of the film “Blank”.
