Complaint filed against Kantara 2:
Rishab Shetty known for his National Award-winning film Kantara is currently working on its prequel, Kantara Chapter 1. However, the production has encountered issues, with locals from Heruru village, Karnataka, filing a complaint against the crew.
As per reports, the complaint was registered at Yesalur police station. Locals, including a former Zilla Panchayat member, claim the filmmakers caused environmental harm in the Gavigudda forest area. Allegedly, the team exceeded their permitted shooting space, venturing into a forest core area where only grazing zone access was approved.

The situation escalated when locals accused the crew of using explosives during filming, endangering the forest’s wildlife. This has heightened concerns about frequent elephant attacks in the region, reportedly caused by the disturbances.
Zilla Panchayat member Sanna Swamy highlighted the villagers’ struggles due to such activities. Matters worsened when a confrontation between locals and the crew turned violent. During the altercation, a young man was seriously injured by a crew member, requiring immediate hospitalization.
The locals have demanded that the shooting be relocated and strict action taken against the crew for their behavior. The controversy has drawn widespread attention, with calls to prioritize environmental protection and community safety.
The filmmakers have yet to respond to the allegations, and further updates are awaited as investigations continue.
