Is THIS the Worst Mani Ratnam Film Yet?
The much-awaited movie Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha, has finally hit the screens. However, the response from the audience has been quite negative. Many viewers feel that Thug Life is just a below-average revenge drama with nothing special to offer. Fans expected Mani Ratnam’s unique storytelling, but most feel that his signature style was missing throughout the film.
Several audience members shared their disappointment on social media, stating they were shocked by the film’s poor quality. They never thought a combination like Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan could result in such an underwhelming movie. Despite a strong opening on the first day, the film’s bookings are falling sharply due to the negative word-of-mouth.
At the same time, comparisons have begun between Thug Life and Retro, a recently released movie starring Suriya. While Retro also had mixed reactions, many viewers found parts of it engaging and better than Thug Life. This comparison has become a hot topic on social media, where memes and trolls are flooding timelines, mocking Thug Life and calling it one of the biggest letdowns in recent Kollywood history.
The disappointment is even more intense because this film came from the iconic team that once gave the classic Nayagan. Now, all eyes are on how Thug Life will perform at the box office in the coming days, though the current outlook isn’t promising.
