Kiran Abbavarams Meter Review
Kiran Abbaravaram is ready with his new film Meter which has been released today. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Arjun(Kiram Abbavaram) is forced to become a cop but he does not like the post one bit. But somehow, he becomes an SI and gets into the department. The more he tries to defame himself, he keeps getting famous. As time passes by, he gets into a tussle with  Home Minister Kantam Baireddy (Dhanush Pawan) and this changes his life upside down. How he changes gears and does his cop duty sincerely is the story of the film.

Performances

Kiran Abbavaram is a confident actor now and he plays a cop for the first time in his career. His body language and attitude suit the cop’s role well. He has also danced well in the songs. But he also overacts in many scenes and one fails to understand why was there such a need to ham so much. Dhanush Pawan who plays the main villain is okay but does not create the right impact. Posani and Saptagiri are good and evoke some laughs.

What’s Good

Routine plot
Silly execution
Lack of strong emotions
Analysis

Kiran Abbavaram has done Meter to get into a mass setup in his career. So he goes all out with this film and does his role well. But there is nothing that this story had. The execution is below par and does not showcase anything new at all. The same old beaten-to-death elevation scenes and hero-villain angle is shown here.

The heroine does not have anything to do in this film. She is kept for songs alone. Ravi Kaduri has directed this film which is a cop saga with dull emotions as none of them create an impact. In a way, you feel that Kiran Abbavaram was used only to show his mass side and nothing else in this film.

After an over-the-top first half, those who expected a better second half things turned worse and the climax came as a saving grace. With no real expressions and all emotions and inexperience of the director, Meter turned out to be a big mess.

The songs are good and so were the dialogues but that is not enough for the film from sinking. In the mode of entertainment, all you see is overaction to the next level by everyone and Kiran Abbavaram leads the pack.

Bottom Line – Silly and Audacious

1.5/5
