mosagallu review

Vishnu Manchu has given his heart and soul to Mosagallu that also has Kajal as the heroine. The film is out today and, read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Anu(Kajal) and Arjun(Vishnu) are two siblings who are unhappy with their dull and depressing poor lives. Arjun works as a call center executive and Anu is an accountant. They make a plan with Arjun’s boss(Navdeep) and pull off a massive scam in the US. Things become so easy for the brother-sister duo that they fool the biggest of the company. The US government finds this out and reaches an Indian cop played by Sunil Shetty. Will this duo be caught and put behind bars is the story of the film.

Performances

Kajal is the mainstay of the film and does so well in her role. She has a solid screen presence and dominates Vishnu in many scenes. She leads the scam and it was good to see her in a role with negative aspects. Vishnu Manchu is quite stylish in the film and manages to do his job well. Vishnu and Kajal’s chemistry is good.

Sunil Shetty is powerful as always but his dubbing is not that good. Navdeep is doing diverse roles these days and he does well here too. Naveen Chandra is always the best in whatever he does and the same applies to Mosagallu as well.

Analysis

As we all know, the film is based on a real story of how two youngsters fooled the Americans. All this looks so good to hear and keep it as the backdrop. But when you execute this as a film, things need to be effective and the screenplay needs to be tighter. The screenplay and logic for an outing as the main grip in the proceedings is missed.

Two young Indians fooling the Americans in such a silly manner makes out for a few laughs in many scenes. The screenplay does not create any effect and the US cops are made to look silly. There was scope for good drama but the director has lost the plot when it comes to Telugu. Vishnu said that he has spent so much on the production values but that is not seen anywhere.

The emotions and writing are weak and none of the thrills work. The beginning and a few tricks that are used to cheat the US cops look good but the rest is all boring. In a nutshell, Mosagallu is a film where logic goes for a toss and the screenplay makes scenes lethargic.

Bottom Line – Does not thrill
