Saindhav Review and Rating: A Missed Mark in Action Drama

SAINDHAV REVIEW

Venkatesh Daggubati is truly one of the most prominent actors in the Telugu film industry. His 75th film in a leading role, named Saindhav, has just hit the big screen today, on January 13th. Let’s find out more about the movie.

Story:

Saindhav Koneru(Venkatesh), has a troubled history. He faces a critical moment where he must rescue his daughter, requiring a 17 crore injection. The movie delves into his backstory, the swift money-making to save his daughter, and his confrontation with a dangerous guns cartel with significant plans.

Performances and Technical Aspects:

Venkatesh impressively manages the serious role of Saindhav Koneru, maintaining dignity and delivering emotional scenes effortlessly.

Shraddha Srinath fits her role well, but the writing doesn’t enhance her impact. Other actors like Arya and Nawazuddin Siddiqui bring initial excitement but fade as the film progresses.

Santosh Narayan’s music disappoints in standalone audio quality, and the background score lacks the intensity crucial for an action thriller. Manikandan’s cinematography is visually appealing, aligning with current trends. Garry Bh’s editing, however, is inconsistent, with the film lacking the crispness required for a modern action thriller.

Niharika Entertainment’s production quality is commendable, especially evident in action sequences.

Analysis:

Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, Saindhav introduces a compelling premise of a father’s quest to save his daughter with a 17 crore injection. The film begins interestingly with a gun cartel’s dangerous plans, but the narrative falters in execution.

The first half sets the stage, exploring the protagonist’s past and cartel conflicts, but lacks thrills. The second half reveals inconsistency in the cartel setup and underdeveloped characters, diminishing the impact. While action choreography and emotional moments have their moments, poor character development hinders a genuine connection. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s potential is underutilized, and the film concludes with a partially impactful ending.

Verdict:

Saindhav falls short of delivering the intensity and thrill expected in a contemporary action film. Despite Venkatesh’s emotional moments, the overall impact is disappointing. Approach with low expectations, especially if anticipating a festive season treat with Venky on screen.

Rating : 2.75/05
