Seetimaarr: Sampath Nandi’s golden opportunity for redemption

A little known first-time filmmaker, Sampath Nandi’s fate changed for the better when he made a surprisingly evocative relationship drama Emaindi Ee Vela, starring Varun Sandesh and Nisha Agarwal. His life took a monumental turn when offered an opportunity to direct Ram Charan for his very second film, Raccha. The film, though not the most imaginative of action entertainers, managed to click at the box office. He lost out on the opportunity to direct Pawan Kalyan for Gabbar Singh but however bagged the opportunity to direct Bengal Tiger with Ravi Teja and Oxygen with Gopichand later. He turned a producer with Galipatam and later bankrolled Paperboy, but a strong commercial success has eluded him after Raccha.

Sampath Nandi birthday

Sampath Nandi’s next is crucial for his career, Seetimaarr, where he yet again teams up with actors whom he has worked in the past – Gopichand and Tamannaah. The film is a sports drama-meets-commercial potboiler outing where the actors play coaches to Andhra and Telangana Kabaddi teams respectively.

40% of its shoot is left to be completed and the team is getting ready to wrap it in a single schedule starting in August. Digangana Suryavanshi, Posani Krishnamurali, Rao Ramesh, Bhumika, Rehaman, Tarun Arora play key roles in the film. One hopes the filmmaker finds his voice through Seetimaarr and directs films that are close to his heart and ones that needn’t necessarily feature stars. Klapboardpost.com wishes him a memorable birthday!
