UoH students part of coronavirus surveillance to tackle the COVID-19

The University of Hyderabad (UoH) stundets have been roped in by the State government as part of the surveillance work to tackle COVID-19 spread. The 15 students belong to second-semester Master of Public Health (MPH) department. Then four research scholars and 30 students, including current MPH seniors and alumni have alos come forward as a volunteer. Meanwhile, UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof Appa Rao Podile heped praises on the students for coming forward as a volunteer amidst the pandemic crisis. “For students of public health of our University, this is indeed a valuable opportunity for gaining hands-on experience in a field in which they are getting trained,”he said.

The State government has taken up the surveillance task in line with the recommendation of WHO for Global Surveillance strategy for human infection.
