In a tragic incident, four of a family committed suicide at their house by hanging. The incident happened in Almasguda in Meerpet in the city outskirts. The victims were identified as Harish, a software engineer, his mother Suvarna Bai, younger brother Girish and sister Swapna. The reason for the suicide is cited to Suvarna Bai and financial problems.
The police were alerted by the neighbors, who later shifted the bodies to the hospital for autopsy. LB Nagar DCP Sunpreet Singh said, “Preliminary investigation suggests that the family was depressed over financial problems and took the extreme step. We are examining the facts in the suicide note and also probing other possible angles”. Police are investigating the matter.
