Bhagavanth Kesari Review : Good message with the right dose of emotions and Balakrishna’s action

Bhagavanth Kesari Review Good message with the right dose of emotions and Balakrish 1Plot

The story revolves around Bhagavanth Kesari (Balakrishna), a former prisoner who becomes the guardian of Vijji Papa (Sreeleela) following her father’s (Sarath Kumar) sudden death. Bhagavanth wants Vijji to fulfill her father’s wish and join the army, but she’s not in favor of it. Meanwhile, Vijji gets entangled in a conspiracy involving a ruthless businessman named Rahul Sanghvi (Arjun Rampal). This leads to a showdown between Bhagavanth Kesari and Rahul Sanghvi, who have a past rivalry as well. The rest of the film explores their past and how the conflict unfolds and about Vijji fulfilling Bhagavanth Kesari dream.

Performances

Nandamuri Balakrishna shines as the heart and soul of the film. His character suits his age, and he delivers a powerful performance, excelling in mass and punch dialogues in the Telangana dialect. Sreeleela impresses as Vijji, showing her acting skills, especially in emotional scenes. Her presence in action sequences alongside Balakrishna, mainly in the last hour, adds to the film’s appeal, and their scenes together are enjoyable.

Kajal Aggarwal has a limited role as a psychologist and doesn’t have much to do. Arjun Rampal is good in his character.

Technical Aspects

The first half of the film doesn’t provide much space for the music by Thaman to shine, but the background music for the Interval action sequence is satisfactory. Thaman’s work shines in the second half, particularly during the action sequences. Cinematography is decent, and the action scenes offer improved visual quality. While editing could be smoother, the writing impresses in various segments.

Analysis

Director Anil Ravipudi mixed mass elements with an emotional drama and got the output in the right way. This time, he doesn’t heavily rely on comedy, considering Balakrishna’s stardom.

The story in the first half is somewhat predictable and lacks depth, with most of the plot revealed in the initial thirty minutes itself, leaving fewer surprises later. However, the second half is well-written and executed, with many high points. It starts with a powerful and action-packed appearance by Balakrishna. The flashback episode is well-done, and the nostalgic elements with Balayya’s background music add impact. The dialogues deserve special mention as they make Balayya as strong with words as he is in action. They are not overly dramatic but effectively put the villains in their place.

The climax is the backbone of the film. The last thirty minutes are so intense and exciting that they’re worth a whistle, and even the end credits keep us engaged.

Pros

– Balakrishna’s performance
– Sreeleela’s acting
– Well-written dialogues
– Action sequences
-Climax

Cons

– Weak villain character
– Flat narrative in the first half

Verdict: The film carries a good message with the right dose of emotions and Balakrishna’s action.

Rating: 3/5
