Butta Bomma Movie Review

Butta Bomma is the official remake of Malayalam film Kappela. The film has been released today and read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Satya(Anikha Surendran) is a young village girl who belongs to a lower middle class family. One fine day, she dials a wrong call and starts talking to a random guy played by Surya Vashistta. This wrong call gets them closer to each other in such a way that Satya decides to leave her parents and meet her lover in Vizag. But the moment she lands in Vizag, she encounters a character played by Arjun Das and lands in deep problems. How she came out is the basic story.

Performances

Anikha Surendran makes an impressive debut. Her character, the way she performs with ease, is one of the highlights of the film. Arjun Das is wasted in his role completely and does not create much of an impact. Surya who plays a key role is very impressive. His act as a good and the later on transformation was showcased so nicely by the young actor.

Analysis

Butta Bomma is the remake of Kappela which had some award winning performances. InTelugu too, the lead cast are no less and did a very good job in holding the screens. The first half has a simple story and nicely sets up the story for the latter part. The only issue here is the slow pace. There are many scenes that are dragged for no reason during this time.

The second half is where all the action happens and the way the real identity of the hero is revealed is very good. But it should have been revealed with more impact. The thrills and the manner in which Arjun Das is introduced looks good but he is not his own self in this role which is not etched properly.

A more gripping narration in the second half would have made matters more interesting.
The music is good and the visuals are very good. Butta Bomma has a relatable story and a good message for girls in today’s time. The director has made sure he narrated the film in a dignified manner. But if he would have added more emotions and thrills, the output would have been even better.

Bottom Line – Slow but okay
