Indian Workers Stranded in Saudi Arabia Without Pay for Months

Hundreds of Indian workers employed by Sendan International Company Limited in Saudi Arabia have been stuck there for about eight months without receiving their salaries. These workers live in tough conditions without enough food, clean water, or medical help. Many have worked for the company for more than two years.

The workers are based at Camp-17 on King Faisal West Road in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. They say the company has not paid them for several months. They are also not allowed to return to India. Some workers have serious health issues but cannot afford medicine due to lack of money.

This problem became known after a journalist named Ashraf Hussain shared a video online. In the video, the workers ask the Indian government, especially the Ministry of External Affairs, to help them come back home safely. They say the company promised to send them home through the government but nothing has happened yet. When they contacted officials, they were told the system to help them is not working.

Sendan International is a company working mainly in construction and related fields such as oil, gas, and power. It was founded in 1994 and is based in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh said it is in contact with some workers and is working to solve the problem. The embassy has also asked the Saudi authorities for help. Other workers from Nepal and Bangladesh also face similar problems at the same company.

In another case, nine Indian workers in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, have been stuck for four months. Their employer stopped giving them work and took their passports, leaving them helpless. These workers have also asked the Indian government to assist in their safe return.
