Tamil director K. Bhagyaraj made misogynist comments against women which have invited the wrath of many and left the women out there fuming. In his speech at a film function in Chennai, he said that crimes against women happen because they allow men, adding rapes also happen because women don’t conduct themselves properly.
“Women used to be within limits and were restrained till the advent of the mobile phone. It pains me to say this, but then, we find women whispering into their cell phones everywhere, even on roads. What they would talk, I wonder”, he said. Condemning about it actor S Ve Sekar said,“Bhagyaraj should not have spoken like that. Such talk could convey wrong message across the society”.
