Karthikeya 2 Movie Review

Karthikeya 2 was supposed to be released a long time back. But it got postponed many times and has come out today. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Karthikeya(Nikhil) is a doctor who has interest in every small thing. He along with his wife got to Dwaraka for a special Darshan. There so many mishaps happen and he even gets arrested in relation to a special murthy which goes missing. Very soon, Karthikeya gets embroiled into this mystery and Anupama Parameswaran also gets involved in it. What is that mystery and how Lord Krishna has a connection with all this is the story.

Performances

Nikhil is superb as the man with a mission. His screen presence has improved and he is no longer that actor who shows tension in his expressions. He does well and gives a settled performance. Anupama looks very beautiful and has done so well in her supporting role. The film has good comedy created by Viva Harsha and Srinivasa Reddy. Anupam Kher is impactful in his role.

Analysis

Firstly, one needs to understand that Karthikeya 2 is not the sequel and is a new story. Chandoo Mondeti has directed the film and he has created a fictional tale with the backdrop of mythology. The film has traces of Hollywood film Da Vinci Code and is filled with good thrills.

What catches the attention of the audience are the arresting visuals. Chandoo Mondeti makes sure that he does not give a chance to the audience to deviate their attention as the suspense thrills are well maintained throughout. What’s special is that the fun quotient is rightly intact in the film without going overboard.

Kaala Bhairava is one more unsung hero of the film with his spellbinding music score. His BGM is arresting and has so many good moments. The editing part and camerawork by Karthik Ghattamaneni is also amazing. The film is more like a quest thriller to unwind the truth.

In that department, Chandoo Mondeti has scored good marks. There are a few loopholes in his narration as he confuses the audience in the beginning. But as there are not many dull moments created, we get engrossed in the story telling and enjoy the thrilling ride. This film will score big at the box office.

Bottom Line – Impressive quest thriller
