#MeToo dominates 2018, what about 2019?

2018 would go down in the history as the year of #Me Too in the Indian film industry. The casting couch issue created quite a ruckus in the film industry. The people talked more about #Me Too than about the hits and misses or even the controversy over Manikarnika.

In Bollywood, even top stars like Nana Patekar had to face #Me Too allegations from yesteryear star Tanushri Dutta. Director Sajid Nadiadwala too faced similar allegations and actors like Akshaya Kumar refused to work with him till he is cleared in all such allegations. A Central minister had to lose his post due to allegations of sexual overtures during his stint as an editor.

Telugu industry would remember this year for the sensational casting couch allegations from starlet Sri Reddy. Similarly, singer Chinmayi rocked the Kollywood with her allegations against scriptwriter Vairamuthu. Kannada star Shruthi Hariharan too levelled allegations against actor Arjun. But, all this seems to have died now. Tanushri is back in London and everything is quiet on Bollywood front. Ditto with Telugu industry. The industry would like to quickly forget these sordid dramas.
