Both Rangasthalam and Maharshi released in 2019 and won a lot of praise. In a way, fans feel that Rangasthalam was more creative and challenging than Maharshi which was routine and nothing new. Maharshi dealt with the plight of farmers and had good performances. But content-wise, Rangasthalam has better performances, songs, direction and was also acclaimed by many and was a path-breaking film in Telugu. But Maharshi won the award and some are not happy about it.
