Sita Ramam Movie Review 1

Apart from Bimbisara, one more biggie in the form of Sita Ramam was released yesterday. The film stars Dulquer Salman, Rashmika, and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Afreen(Rashmika) is a student in London. One fine day, her grandfather asks her to deliver a letter to Sita(Mrunal Thakur). The letter was written by Ram(Dulquer Salman) 20 years back. Why was Afreen asked to deliver the letter? Who are Ram and Sita? What is their past and where do Sumanth and other key characters fit in this set up. That forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Dulquer Salmn is a charmer and he proves that once again as Ram in Sita Ramam. Dulquer looks dashing and mouths Telugu lines in a cute manner. All the romantic scenes of his are to die for. The surprise package is Mrunal Thakur with her striking debut. She as Sita is beautiful and breathes life into her character. The manner in which she shows her emotions is wonderful. Hero Sumanth gets a meaty role along with Tarun Bhaskar and adds an edge to the film. Finally, Rashmika plays a supporting role and the character fits in so well in the narrative.

Analysis

Sita Ramam is a timeless love story that has been narrated in a soft and sweet manner by Hanu Raghavapudi. Though he takes a lot of time to get into the actual love story, he delivers a punch with his sublime and classy touch. The way he showcases the love story and brings the love out will surely attract the audience.

What adds more glitz to the film is the superb music which is timed amazingly in the film. The manner in which the BGM takes over a few silent and emotional scenes is so good. The period setup and the Kashmir backdrop during the flashback is so designed well by the director Hanu.

Sita Ramam also has its own fair share of flaws. The film is slow and there are so many predictable scenes. The makers have added good twists but most of them can be predicted. What’s good is that each character has its own importance. Sita Ramam has some very good romantic scenes and the added bonus is the presence of big stars. The pacing is slow but the film will surely pull your heartstrings with its honest narration and storytelling.

Bottom Line – Classy romantic tale
