Sumanth’s Anaganaga OTT review and rating:
Let’s see how Anaganaga, a simple yet soulful film led by Sumanth.connects emotionally with the audience and whether it succeeds in delivering its message about education and relationships.
Story:
Vyas (Sumanth) works as a teacher at a school where his wife Bhagyalakshmi (Kajal Chaudhary) is the principal. Their son Ram struggles academically and dislikes traditional learning methods. Vyas who believes in storytelling as a teaching tool tries to engage his students in a different way. His ideas slowly bring a positive change in Ram and others. However tensions grow between Vyas and Bhagyalakshmi leading to personal conflicts. A sudden life changing twist forces Vyas to make a bold decision, hoping his ideas will live on even if he doesn’t. The film explores how this impacts his family and students.
Performances:
Sumanth delivers a sincere and convincing performance as Vyas, making the character relatable. His portrayal is calm, mature, and engaging. Kajal Chaudhary plays a limited role but does fairly well. Child actor Viharsh Yadavalli impresses with his natural acting. Anu Haasan shines in a brief appearance. However, actors like Srinivas Avasarala and Shiva Kandukuri are underused and don’t get enough screen time.
Technical Aspects:
Chandu Ravi’s music adds emotional depth, and the songs are pleasant. Pavan Kumar Pappula’s cinematography stands out despite limited locations, giving the film a polished look. The editing is tight, especially in the first half, though the second half feels slightly slow. The production design and costume work also enhance the overall feel of the movie.
Analysis:
Anaganaga could’ve been just another film about reforming education, but debut director Sunny Sanjay gives it emotional strength by focusing on the father-son bond. The film avoids deep detail but keeps things simple and heartfelt. While Vyas’s transformation methods seem too easy at times, the movie wins with its good intentions, touching moments, and clean storytelling. It doesn’t dig deep into the complexities of the education system but still manages to leave an impact with its emotional storytelling.
Verdict:
Anaganaga is a warm and emotional film that works more for its heart than logic. Though it has its flaws, strong performances and clean execution make it a worthy watch on OTT.
Rating: 2.5/5
