Vyooham review and rating: More of RGV’s nonsense

vyuham review

Plot

After YSR’s passing and Jagans’s (Ajmal Amir) Odharpu Yatra in Andhra Pradesh, the movie’s storyline unravels the political scenario. It explores how characters like CBN (Dhanunjay Prabhune) and Pawan Kalyan try to undermine Jagan in Andhra Pradesh. The focal point of the tale is Jagan’s determination and success in the elections.

Artist Performances and Technical Aspects

Ajmal Amir stands out as Jagan, truly becoming the heart and soul of the film. Manasa Radhakrishnan, portraying Y. S. Bharati, also steals the show. Dhanunjay Prabhune, in the role of N. Chandrababu Naidu, aptly fits his character. Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi deliver okay performances in their respective roles.

The background music (BGM) elevates important scenes. However, there is room for improvement in cinematography and editing, as the production values remain at an average level.

Analysis

RGV successfully caters to a specific political audience, injecting humor, particularly when Pawan Kalyan’s character appears. The portrayal of CBN takes a negative angle opposite to Jagan, while Chiranjeevi’s character attempts to guide Pawan Kalyan, who disregards advice, leading to election losses. However, on the screen, all these scenes seem just okay as Ram Gopal Varma focused more on criticizing rather than telling a compelling story and guiding the direction of the movie. The attention appears to be on pointing out flaws rather than creating a captivating narrative, which may leave the audience with a sense of the film falling short of its potential.

The film elicits laughter during PK and Chiru’s appearances, and certain scenes benefit from well-executed sound and BGM. However, the second half drags, making it a somewhat tedious watch.

Verdict

Vyooham may not offer profound cinematic experiences, but it proves engaging for a particular group of political enthusiasts. While they might find it worth their time, others can easily skip this film, as it doesn’t resonate universally.
