Clap Movie Review

Along with Radhe Shyam, Aadi Pinisetty’s Clap has also been released today on Sony Liv. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Vishnu(Aadi Pinisetty) is a superb runner but sadly loses his leg in an accident. Under sports quota, he gets a job and comes across a profile of Bhagyalakshmi who is also a solid runner. Vishnu starts his journey in helping the young lady but she has so many issues to deal with. How will Aadi face this and make her the champion is the story.

Performances

Aadhi Pinishetty gave a solid performance as a physically challenged person. His acting and settled screen presence as a guy with a life full of depression bring authentic flavour to the proceedings. The young girl Krisha Kurup who acted in the role of Bhagyalakshmi gave her best and brought an emotional yet inspirational feel to the screen. Heroine Aakanksha Singh gets a crisp but key role in which she gives a convincing performance.

What’s Good

Aadi’s acting
Some emotions

What’s Bad

Routine Story
Dull narration
Lack of proper drama

Analysis

Clap is a sports drama that has a very familiar story. So many films have been made in the same backdrop and there is nothing new that is showcased here. Upon this, the dull pace creates no interest for the audience.

On the other hand, the music by legendary musician Ilayaraja fails to register as neither background music nor situational songs manage to impress. Also, the hero villain conflict between Aadi and Nasser is quite dull.

The film has predictable moments throughout. But Aadi’s acting keeps the film moving. Apart from that there is nothing new in this film to get super excited for. as such sports drama have come in dime and dozens before

Bottom Line – Been there done that
