Plot

Amreek played by Arjun Kapoor is called back to India from the US as his grandmother Sardar(Neena Gupta) is critical. As her last wish, Sardar tells Amreek that she wants to go to Lahore, Pakistan, and see her home which she built with her husband one last time. So, Amreek decides to fulfill her grandma’s last wish. how will he do it forms the story?

Analysis

The film has a very interesting storyline and is also executed well on the big screen. Arjun Kapoor is the perfect fit for his role and delivers an emotional performance. Most of the film is about his chemistry with his grandmom Neena Gupta. She was just amazing in the film and kudos to her for carrying off a 90-year-old with ease.

Rakul Preet, who plays the heroine is hardly there in the film. Production values and camera work is amazing. The film also moves to Pakistan and this looks good. But once it lands the scenes are also managed well. The only drawback of the film is the other episodes of love track and wastage of official things shown between the two countries.

In showcasing so much, the logic is given way and the film looks tedious. The writing is weak and gives away the plot many times. The good thing about the film is that it makes for a lean watch. In a nutshell, Sardar Ka Grandson has good emotions and can be given a chance for only that
