Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 2

Kamal Haasan’s new movie Thug Life saw a big drop in box office earnings on its second day. On the first day, the film earned ₹15.5 crore across India. But on the second day, the collections fell by more than half, earning only about ₹7.5 crore. This means the total collection so far is ₹23 crore.

The Tamil version of the film had an occupancy rate of 31.4% on Friday, with the night shows being the most popular at 46%. The Telugu version performed less well, with an occupancy of just 14.2%, and the Hindi version did the worst, getting only 6.5% occupancy overall.

Thug Life started with mostly negative reviews from both critics and viewers. Many said the film has too much talking and a slow story. India Today noted that the dialogues felt awkward and the screenplay was ordinary, which made the film less exciting for many.

Another problem affecting the film’s success was a ban in Karnataka. This happened because Kamal Haasan made a comment during a promotional event, saying that Kannada language was born from Tamil. Many people in Karnataka were upset by this and some groups protested. Since Kamal Haasan did not apologize, the movie was banned in the state, which hurt its business.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life tells the story of a mafia leader named Sakthivel who saves and raises a young boy named Amaran. The film stars Kamal Haasan along with Trisha Krishnan, T.R. Silambarasan, and others.

The movie was released worldwide on June 5, just before the release of Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5.
