Vishwak Sen struggles to bag a hit

Vishwak Sen has been facing significant challenges in achieving a box office hit despite his films generating initial interest. His recent works including the action drama Gangs of Godavari directed by Krishna Chaitanya have shown promising starts but faltered soon after release.

This pattern mirrors the performance of his earlier films, Gaami and Das Ka Dhamki which also saw a sharp decline in audience engagement after the first few days.

The recurring issue with Vishwak Sen’s recent films is their inability to maintain audience interest beyond the first few days of release. While they open well and generate positive initial buzz mixed reviews and lack of sustained engagement result in a quick decline at the box office.

This suggests that Vishwak Sen might need to be more discerning in his choice of scripts to ensure that his films have a lasting impact and longer theatrical runs.

For an actor known for his mass appeal, the challenge lies in selecting stories that resonate more deeply with the audience and sustain their interest over time. Quality script selection is crucial to avoid the trend of initial excitement followed by a rapid drop in viewership. By focusing on stronger, more compelling narratives, Vishwak Sen can potentially overcome these challenges and achieve consistent box office success. If not, then the actor could go unnoticed in a few more films.

Getting to his recent release Gangs of Godavari, this film also opened with a lot of anticipation and initial success. The story revolves around Lankala Rathnam (played by Vishwak Sen), a resident of Kovvuru village with ambitions of making it big. Rathnam’s journey sees him initially aligning with a local politician, Dorasami Raju (played by Goparaju Ramana), and later switching his loyalty to another politician, Nanaji (played by Nassar). Eventually, Rathnam becomes an MLA but this political journey brings numerous adversaries, setting up a series of challenges for him. Despite the compelling storyline and a strong ensemble cast Gangs of Godavari could not sustain its initial momentum.
