Actor, producer, composer Vijay Antony, a man of many talents, surprised one and all when his dubbed film Bichagadu smashed records upon its release in Telugu – the dubbed version went onto gross more money than its original, making him a ‘minimum guarantee’ name with all his dubbed releases in Telugu henceforth. Looks like the actor, producer is attempting to recreate the magic of Bichagadu with its sequel, that’s expected to be announced on his birthday, July 24.
The makers of the sequel have been cryptic about the same in their media statement. “This film is going to be a highly anticipated sequel to his sensational blockbuster movie,” they added. And there’s little doubt that Bichagadu is Vijay Antony’s most successful film. Satna Titus and Dheepa Ramanujam co-starred the actor in the film that released in 2016.
Another reason why Vijay Antony has been in the news all this while was for his announcement of a 25% pay cut for three upcoming films to compensate his producers in the financial crisis caused by the pandemic. The last time he was seen in a Telugu film was alongside Arjun for Killer, inspired by Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X, the same work that Drishyam was loosely based upon. The slick action thriller despite earning good reviews didn’t make a splash at the box office.
