Hunt Movie Review

Sudheer Babu is trying hard to score a success but is not getting it. But he is keeping on doing films. Next in line is the thriller Hunt which has been released today. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Arjun Prasad(Sudheer Babu) is a top cop who loses his memory due to a tragic accident. Due to this, he loses his confidence badly. But he has a duty to do and also needs to investigate the murder case of yet another cop Aryan Dev(Bharat) which is given to him by his boss(Srikanth). Well, how a cop with memory loss investigates a crazy murder case is the rest of the story.

Performances

Sudheer Babu is a decent actor and he gets a good role where he can showcase his talent and he does big time. He as the cop with memory loss is quite good and has given a splendid performance. His fights and serious body language suit the film. Tamil actor Bharat is very good in his role and it is good to see Srikanth get a meaningful role after ages. Chitra Shukla is also neat in her role.

What’s Good

Sudheer Babu’s role
Basic Storyline

What’s Bad

Boring second half
Dull screenplay

Analysis

Hunt is an investigative thriller that has a cop setup and a good storyline. The first half is showcased quite well and has some good tense scenes as well. Hunt has sensible performances and the director has extracted good work from his actors. There is a sense of tension created in the first half and the manner in which the story is set up also looks good and engages the audience.

What could have been a racy thriller ends as a damp squib in the second half. The tempo loses and the plot goes haywire. In a way, the director Mahesh did not know how to handle the storyline one bit. He drags the plot and adds so many scenes that bore the audience.

The screenplay has no freshness during this time as the loose ends are visible easily. The editing is pathetic in the film as the second half is a mess. Though the climax twist is thought of well, the way the film ends needed more drama and clarity. The visuals are good too and production values are neat for a cop drama.

But the sense of tension and dramatic interest is not created for the audience in this film. In a way, the film clicks here and there due to some good thrills but gets bogged down in the second half deviating the interest of the audience by the end.

Bottom Line – Thrills only here and there
