Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna’s Remuneration for Coolie
The much-anticipated film Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is already generating a lot of buzz due to its star-studded cast and massive production budget of Rs. 400 crore. The movie is expected to be one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year.
Rajinikanth, one of Asia’s highest-paid actors, is reportedly earning between Rs. 260-280 crore for his role in Coolie. At the age of 72, Rajinikanth continues to command an impressive salary that exceeds the fees of top international stars such as Aamir Khan and Jackie Chan. Along with Rajinikanth, the director of the film, Lokesh Kanagaraj, is said to be paid Rs. 60 crore for his work on this high-budget project.
Nagarjuna Akkineni, another senior actor in the film, is expected to receive Rs. 24 crore for his role in Coolie. Other actors in the cast, including Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Upendra Rao, are reportedly getting their usual pay, without any significant increases for this project. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will also make a special cameo in the film, for which he is reportedly earning between Rs. 25-30 crore.
Pooja Hegde, who is known for her recent success in Retro, will appear in a cameo for a song in Coolie. She is expected to earn around Rs. 2 crore for her short role. The movie is produced by Sun Pictures, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
To build excitement, the makers of Coolie recently released a new promo marking 100 days until its release. The promo showcases the looks of the actors and has raised fans’ anticipation even further. The message accompanying the promo reads, “Arangam Adhirattume, Whistle Parakkattume #CoolieIn100Days #Coolie worldwide from August 14th.”
With its impressive budget, star cast, and growing hype, Coolie is expected to be one of the most significant film releases of the year. Fans are eagerly awaiting its debut.
