Ramabanam Review

Plot

Vicky(Gopichand) fights with his brother Rajaram(Jagapathi Babu) and lands in Kolkatta. There he becomes a don and falls in love with a girl(Dimple Hayati) which leads him back to his brother’s life. This causes issues and a rift between the brothers for ideological issues as well. How will Vicky handle all these issues at once is the story of Rama Banam.

Performances

Gopichand is very good in his role. He looks fit and has also done a superb job in all the action parts. His chemistry is also neat with Dimple Hayati. She gets a neat role and is also good in all her scenes. Jagapathi Babu is okay in his soft role but he overacts in some of the scenes. Khushboo gets a key role and she was quite effective. Sachin Khedekar is wasted in his role.

What’s Good

Gopichand Performance
Khushboo’s role
Action blocks

What’s Bad

Old Story
Dull screenplay
Same old family emotions

Analysis

Sriwass last film was in 2018 and looks like he is stuck in that zone only as his story, narration, and screenplay are very old. Right from the first frame, things are quite outdated. The trailer showcases what the film is all about and there is nothing new that we get to see here. Also, the manner in which scenes are repeated is the worst part.

The comedy created is okay only in a few scenes. The rest of the supporting cast is outdated and does not give new to the table. Sriwass should have updated himself and presented the story in a new manner. But sadly, he did not do that at all. The love story between the lead pair is boring and derails the track.

The production values are good and so was the music. The dialogues are well thought off as per the genre of the film. Micky J Meyer’s BGM is loud and boring. The message that the film conveys is decent in the end but the boring execution does not give the audience an enjoyable ride. Also, the proceedings are so predictable that you exactly know what is going to happen next.

Bottom Line – Outdate and Boring
