Telugu films are facing tough times these days. The situation is unprecedented. Barring Sankranthi release F2, no other film has managed to lure the audience into the theatres this year so far. Only F2 has managed to rake in big moolah.
But, the collections for this film too are gradually thinning as the film is now available on Amazon Prime. All other films have fallen flat as high quality piracy films are easily available in the online domain.
Both Dev and Lovers Day, released last week, have disappointed. During the week days, the occupancy hasn’t gone beyond 20 per cent. Ditto with Multiplexes and single-screens. Even otherwise, February and March are considered lean season. The situation might remain the same at least till summer season.
