Tragedy struck in Tollywood as veteran actress Geetanjali passed away. She died of a cardiac arrest at a private hospital near Film Nagar in the wee hours of Thursday.
Having a career spanning over six decades, Geetanjali featured in over 500 films across multiple languages like Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. She was launched by senior NTR in Seetharama Kalyanam in 1961. Some of Geetanjali’s noted films include Seetharama Kalyanam, Dr Chakravarthy, Letha Manasulu, Bobbili Yuddham, Devatha, Letha Manasulu, Gudachari 116 and Sambarala Rambabu.
On personal front, she got married to fellow actor Ramakrishna after sharing the screen with him in a few films. Her son Adith Srinivas also tested his fate as an actor with the 2008 film Bhuma. The last rites of the great actress will be performed this evening and tributes have already started to come in from all quarters of the film fraternity.
