Hyderabad Metro Announces 10% Discount on Revised Ticket Rates
The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMRL) has announced a 10% discount on its revised ticket prices, which will be effective from May 24, 2025. This move is aimed at reducing the burden on passengers after a recent fare revision.
With the discount in place, the ticket rates now range from Rs 11 to Rs 69, depending on the distance traveled. For short trips up to 2 kilometers, passengers will pay just Rs 11. For longer distances, the fare increases step by step, reaching Rs 69 for trips beyond 24 kilometers.
Here is the new fare structure after the 10% discount:
Up to 2 km: Rs 11
2–4 km: Rs 17
4–6 km: Rs 28
6–9 km: Rs 37
9–12 km: Rs 47
12–15 km: Rs 51
15–18 km: Rs 56
18–21 km: Rs 61
21–24 km: Rs 65
Above 24 km: Rs 69
These revised fares apply to all types of tickets, including Paper QR Tokens, Digital Tickets, and Smart Cards.
The fare revision was recommended by the Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) as part of a plan to keep metro services running smoothly and sustainably. However, after listening to passenger feedback, HMRL decided to offer a 10% discount to help reduce the financial impact.
KVB Reddy, MD and CEO of L\&T HMRL, stated that the discount was approved considering the passengers’ interests and overall public benefit.
This update is a welcome relief for regular metro users in Hyderabad, especially those commuting long distances daily.
