Prema Vimanam review

Actor Sangeet Shobhan and Sanvi Meghna in the lead roles and Anasuya in a key role, ‘Prema Vimanan’ is currently streaming on Zee5. The film is produced by Abhishek Nama and directed by Santhosh Kata. Let’s see how far this story set in a rural backdrop can win the hearts of audiences.

Story

The story majorly takes place in the 90s. A farmer named Nagaraju (played by Ravivarma) struggles to clear debts to his landlord in Medipally. All he worries about is his mother, wife Shanta (Anasuya), and two children Ramu (Devansh nama) and Laxman (Anirudh nama). The family continues to live by cultivating the farm.
But Nagaraju’s death leaves a void in the family. But two children keep aspiring for their dream — to board an airplane. On the other hand, Abhitha (Saanve Megghana), the daughter of village Sarpanch (Supreet Reddy) falls in love with Mani (Sangeet Shobhan) who looks after his father’s grocery shop. How do the journeys of these four people cross paths while they run after their dreams to achieve? Will the two kids ever board an aircraft ever — is the story.

Analysis

If you’re worried about watching an OTT film, Prema Vimanam is a perfect entertainer who rides on human emotions, aspirations and triumph. The making of the film and the way it is dealt is brilliant. But if every track in this story is treated with some freshness, the film would have fetched more points.

How a husband takes his life after his inability to pay the debts. And how his wife struggles to pay the debts aftermath of hubby’s tragic death. How do children go astray to fulfill their dreams? Overall, the story has layers in it. Audiences are tired of watching this kind of scene but the second half has something interesting to watch out for.

Usually, love stories in villages do not take much time to spread. Even if someone loves a girl from an upper caste, he would certainly be in for a big mess. But the hero Sangeeth Shoban steals the show and grabs the right opportunity to elope with his girlfriend.

The story unfolds on screen. But you won’t find too many interesting elements or twists. The story has its flow. The screenplay could have been better by adding suspense. Or say a few connecting emotions that could change the course of the film. The cinematography and editing should have been more crisp. Anup Rubens once again rescued the film with the background score. The songs ‘Dorasani Dorasani ..’ … ‘Anandam Uppongele’ are catchy. The message at the end is good.

Performances

The lead pair Saanve and Sangeeth have done a fabulous job in pushing the story forward. The two kids Devansh Nama and Anirudh Nama have given satisfactory performances. Supreeth Reddy as the brother of the female protagonist is good. Goparaju Ramana does well within his precincts. Anasuya Bharadwaj stole the show in the first half. The emotions she portrayed on the screen and for the role of Shantha she perfectly got into the skin of the character.

Verdict

Prema Vimanam is a good family entertainer with the elements of family emotions, love and triumph.
