Who Is Pravasthi Aaradhya? Teen singer behind bold accusations
Young Telugu singer Pravasthi Aaradhya has recently made headlines after raising serious accusations against the team behind the singing reality show Padutha Theeyaga. In a video shared on social media, Pravasthi claimed she faced body-shaming, bullying, and unfair treatment during her time on the show.
Pravasthi, 19, had earlier gained recognition by winning Super Singer 2024 on Star Maa and the Mirchi Music Award in 2014. With over 21,000 followers on Instagram, her recent video has gone viral, sparking discussions across social media.
She accused prominent judges including music director M.M. Keeravani, singer Sunitha Upadrasta, and lyricist Chandrabose of making rude remarks about her body and singing background. She also said that the production team pressured her to wear sarees tied low to expose her navel, making her uncomfortable.
According to Pravasthi, while Keeravani and Chandrabose were supportive in the beginning, their attitude changed after Sunitha allegedly criticized her talent behind the scenes. Pravasthi claimed she overheard these comments through her earpiece.
She also alleged that Keeravani made fun of her for singing at weddings to support her family financially. She expressed how hurtful it was when he used the word “chakiri” (a casual word for job) to describe her music career.
Additionally, Pravasthi said that the show’s producers often made last-minute changes to the songs, possibly to influence eliminations. She accused host S.P. Charan of physically stopping her from leaving the stage when her mother tried to intervene.
In response to the trolling she has faced online, especially from fans of Sunitha, Pravasthi said, “Celebrities are human too. Don’t ignore my pain just because you admire their talent.”
Reacting to the allegations, Sunitha shared her disappointment in a video, saying she has known Pravasthi since childhood and never imagined such claims would come from her.
This controversy has stirred debate around the treatment of young artists in reality shows and the pressures they face behind the scenes.
