A video of woman tourist getting arrested in Maldives for wearing a bikini is doing the rounds on social media. The video shows the woman tourist in a British accent shouting , “You are sexually assaulting me”, to the cops who are trying to cover-up her with beach towel.
Amidst this viral video and receiving flak, Maldives Police Service Commissioner Mohamed Hameed even made a public apology after the arrest of the woman. The wearing of bikinis is not illegal on the island but it is “strictly prohibited” in all areas other than in holiday resorts.
