Arjun Son of Vyjayanthi review:
Arjun ( Kalyan Ram) is raised by his mother Vyjayanthi (Vijayashanti), a sincere and tough police officer. She dreams of seeing her son become an honest IPS officer. But Arjun’s life changes when he ends up clashing with a powerful mafia group. Though he doesn’t want to break the law, he turns into a vigilante to protect the people around him. This puts him at odds with his mother, who doesn’t support his methods.
Arjun moves to Vizag and eventually becomes a feared gangster in a workers’ colony. A new police commissioner (Srikanth) is posted to the city and finds out that the gangster is Vyjayanthi’s son. As Arjun continues his fight for justice in his own way, Vyjayanthi urges him to surrender and follow the legal path. The film builds on this emotional conflict between mother and son.
Performances and Technical Aspects:
Kalyan Ram delivers a convincing performance as Arjun, especially in emotional and action scenes. Vijayashanti brings strength to the screen with her commanding role. Their emotional scenes together are the highlight of the film. Srikanth plays his role effectively, while Saiee Manjrekar and Sohail Khan have limited impact.
The background music by Ajaneesh Loknath works well in action scenes, but the songs are average. The production values are decent, and the action scenes are well executed. However, the direction and screenplay could have been more engaging.
Final Verdict:
Arjun Son of Vyjayanthi has strong emotional moments and good performances, especially by the lead actors. But the story feels predictable and the style of narration is old-fashioned. It’s a decent watch for fans of action dramas and mother-son emotional themes but may not appeal to those looking for something new.
