Tollywood young hero joins Vijay Sethupathi-Puri Jagannadh’s next
Popular Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is teaming up with Telugu director Puri Jagannadh for a brand-new film. This exciting project is being produced under Puri’s own banner. Reports say the film has a unique storyline, which convinced Sethupathi to take up the lead role. The project is currently in the pre-production stage, and the official launch is expected soon.
While the lead actor is confirmed, the makers have not yet revealed who will play the female lead or the villain. However, an interesting update has caught everyone’s attention—Puri Jagannadh’s son, Akash Puri, will be playing a key role in this film.
Akash, who made his debut as a hero with Mehbooba, has acted in films like
Romantic and Chor Bazaar. Unfortunately, these films did not perform well, and he has been waiting for the right opportunity to prove himself. With this new role, Akash is hoping for a strong comeback.

Sources say that the role has been specially designed for Akash by his father. Although Akash is still a young actor, Puri believed he would be the perfect fit for this character. As a result, he chose to cast his son in this crucial role.
Interestingly, Puri Jagannadh is known for not recommending his son to other filmmakers. He believes that every actor should earn opportunities on their own merit. That is why he decided to create space for Akash in his own film, rather than waiting for outside offers.
Since Puri is currently facing a rough patch in his career with a few flops, he is taking this project seriously. He also seems hesitant to approach outside producers for a film with Akash, given the actor’s weak market performance. Instead, Puri is taking the risk himself, using his own production house to give his son a meaningful chance.
