THIS director earns more than North and South superstars
SS Rajamouli, the visionary director behind blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR, has become one of the highest-paid personalities in Indian cinema. While stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Allu Arjun are known for their massive salaries, Rajamouli reportedly surpasses them all by earning around ₹200 crores per film.
His impressive fee includes not just upfront payment but also a significant share of profits and bonuses from theatrical, satellite, and digital rights. This unique deal structure allows him to earn more as the movie performs better at the box office.
According to reports, Rajamouli made a huge amount from RRR, especially after the massive success of the Baahubali franchise. In comparison, top Bollywood actors like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan reportedly earn between ₹150 to ₹180 crores per film.
Other successful directors like Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prashanth Neel charge around ₹90 crores, while Rajkumar Hirani earns about ₹80 crores per project. Directors like Sukumar and Lokesh Kanagaraj are also among the top-paid, with fees of around ₹40 crores per movie.
Rajamouli’s next big film is tentatively titled SSMB29 featuring Mahesh Babu in the lead role. It’s expected to be a global adventure film with grand visuals, large-scale sets, and action scenes involving thousands of crew members. The film is currently in development and may hit screens in 2027.
SS Rajamouli’s talent and storytelling have made him a top name in the industry, not only for delivering massive hits but also for changing how directors are valued in Indian cinema.
