YRF in Trouble? War 2 Teaser Triggers Massive Criticism

The teaser for War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, has sparked major debate online. While fans were excited to see the two stars come together, many were left disappointed by the visual effects. As soon as the teaser was released, social media was filled with criticism, especially aimed at the film’s use of CGI and green screen.

Many fans felt that the visuals looked unrealistic and outdated. Comments like “plastic-looking VFX” and “shot entirely on green screen” flooded the internet. This is surprising, considering Yash Raj Films (YRF), the production house behind War 2, is one of Bollywood’s biggest banners with a long history and strong financial backing.

This is not the first time YRF has faced such criticism. Fans have pointed out similar issues in their earlier releases like Tiger 3 and Pathaan. The common complaint is that YRF’s in-house VFX studio, YFX, isn’t meeting modern visual standards.

Amidst all this, fans have begun to suggest that YRF should seek help from Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment (RCE), which has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality VFX. Films like Jawan, Ra.One, Fan, and Animal have been praised for their top-tier visuals, all handled by RCE.

With only a few months left before War 2 hits theatres, a complete visual overhaul may not be possible. However, many believe that outsourcing some of the major scenes to RCE could improve the film’s look significantly—even by 30 to 40 percent.

This controversy highlights a bigger issue in Bollywood: the need to prioritize quality, especially in big-budget films. If Indian cinema wants to compete globally, poor VFX is not acceptable. Fans expect more from large productions, and execution is just as important as story or cast.

Now, all eyes are on YRF. Can Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies step in and help save War 2 from becoming a visual disappointment? Only time will tell.
