When Karthi Got Thrown Out of Theater While Watching Rangeela
Popular Tamil actor Karthi once shared a humorous memory from his college days involving the 1995 Bollywood film Rangeela. During a media interaction in 2022 while promoting Ponniyin Selvan, Karthi opened up about his love for Hindi movies and particularly, Aamir Khan’s Rangeela.
He revealed that he and his friends had gone to a theater to watch the famous song “Tanha Tanha” from Rangeela. In their excitement, they rushed inside the theater and caused a bit of chaos. As a result, the group was asked to leave the hall. However, their enthusiasm didn’t end there. They managed to get tickets for the next show and came back to enjoy the movie properly.
He shared, “I’ve watched so many Hindi films during my college times. I clearly remember Rangeela. We went there to watch Tanha Tanha, ran inside the theater, and were thrown out. But we got tickets for the next show and went back in.”
The memory resurfaced recently as fans celebrated Karthi’s birthday. The actor turned 48 and received warm wishes from across the country. To mark the occasion, the makers of Sardar 2 unveiled a new poster featuring Karthi and wished him on social media.
On the professional front, Karthi has a strong lineup of films including Vaa Vaathiyaar, Sardar 2, and Kaithi 2 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He also made a special appearance in Nani’s HIT 3, hinting at his lead role in the next installment, HIT: The Fourth Case.
Currently, Karthi is filming Sardar 2, an action-packed spy thriller and sequel to his 2022 hit. Directed by P.S. Mithran, the film features Rajisha Vijayan, Malavika Mohanan, and S.J. Suryah in key roles. It is expected to hit theaters in 2025.
