Manchu Vishnu’s upcoming film, “Kannappa,” recently stirred up excitement with its official cast and crew details released on November 23. Celebrating Vishnu’s birthday, the film’s first look was revealed at 2:45 am Indian time and 10:15 am New Zealand time.
The unveiled poster showcases Vishnu in the role of Kannappa, donning a warrior’s attire, gazing upwards amidst a flurry of arrows, depicting a moment of gripping action. Set against the backdrop of a Sivalingam, the poster hints at the film’s grand scale, heightening audience expectations for what’s to come.
Renowned actor Mohan Babu is set to produce “Kannappa” on a pan-India level, under the banners of Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory. The movie is helmed by director Mukesh Kumar Singh, known for his work on the ‘Mahabharat’ series aired on Star Plus.
Apart from portraying the titular character, Manchu Vishnu has also penned the film’s script. Collaborating on the story development were writers Paruchuri, Burra Sai Madhav, Eeshwar Reddy, Nageshwar Reddy, and Thota Prasad. Musical compositions for the movie will be orchestrated by Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy. Notably, Sheldon Chau serves as the cinematographer, while Chinna takes on the role of art director. Kecha Khamphakdee has been assigned as the stunt master, and Anthony Gonsalvez will oversee editing.
With a significant budget and stringent technical standards, the film’s shooting is slated to occur predominantly (80%) in New Zealand. Speculations about the inclusion of major stars like Prabhas, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Nayanthara have been circulating for a while. Today, Manchu Vishnu officially confirmed their involvement in “Kannappa.”
The star-studded ensemble includes acclaimed actors such as Mohanlal, Siva Rajkumar, Sarath Kumar, and Mohan Babu. Furthermore, the decision to cast Pan-Indian star Prabhas as Lord Shiva and Nayanthara as Goddess Parvati has escalated anticipation for the movie to new heights.
